Plenty of luscious berries for PYO
The wet weather has, remarkably, been a bonus for our raspberry and strawberry crops leading to a wonderful crop of fantastic fruit – do please consider visiting to pick your own. It is though rather playing havoc with when to start the harvest but we hope we’ll be cutting the rape and barley soon.
In the Shop
We also have plenty of ready-picked raspberries and strawberries in the shop and an abundance of other delicious summer fruits and vegetables with local plums, English cherries, redcurrants, English runner beans, a wide variety of tomatoes grown locally as well as the sweet juicy stoned fruits like peaches, nectarines and apricots.
In the Café
We are now stocking a selection of red and white wines carefully chosen for us by the independent wine merchants Corney & Barrow in Newmarket. The wines and a Prosecco are also available by the glass. We’ve also got some great lagers and real ales for you to enjoy, all from breweries in East Anglia. For those who like an alcoholic ginger beer we hope you’ll try the one we’ve found from Crabbies brewery that is made in the traditional way and steeped for up to 8 weeks to produce a wonderful spicy flavour.
