The most popular cheeses for the festive season include:
Cheddar Truckles – Cave-Aged Wookey Hole
Black Bomber (v) – Snowdonia’s modern classic – this flagship extra mature cheddar has a delicious rich flavour with smooth creaminess that lasts long on the palate.
Whole baby Stilton – approx 2.5 kg. Colston Bassett’s award-winning Stilton has a rich cream colour with blue veining, smooth and creamy texture and mellow flavour with no sharp acidic taste from the blue.
Cashel Blue (v)– the Irish blue that is soft, moist and has melt-in-the mouth creaminess when mature – a tasty alternative to the traditional and stronger blue Stilton
Whole Brie de Meaux – strong unpasteurised Brie from the Meaux region of France. Full and fruity raw cheese with soft unctuous texture and easy yet complex nutty flavours.
Vacherin Mont d’Or (450 g) – wrapped in a strip of bark from the spruce tree – a traditional Christmas cheese perfect for entertaining
Normandy Camembert (1kg)
Delice de Bourgogne – a decadent triple-creme cheese. Rich and full-flavoured with a smooth, velvety melt-in-the-mouth texture.
Yarg – (v) this moist cheese from Cornwall has a fresh creamy taste and unique quality from the nettle leaves that are brushed onto the cheese in concentric circles. As the cheese matures, the edible nettle rind imparts a delicate mushroomy taste and develops a unique bloomy white appearance.
Truffler Cheddar – a mature cheddar blended with black truffles and mushroom salsa
